Having a pet is so weird. Like neither of you speak each other’s language and yet you form some strong bond by rubbing against each other and sleeping together and you might accidentally kick them in the face or step on their tail once in a while but at the end of the day you two are best buddies from entirely different species.
I love seeing Belle and Rumple in a scene together. You might think that goes without saying, but I don’t ‘ship it, per se. If the plot wound its way logically towards either of them pairing off with a different character, I’d be okay with it (not that I think it’s likely, unless one of the actors quits, in which case I’d be infinitely more upset about losing a beloved character than half a pairing!) I love the sheer variety of scenes that the two of them have had together - soppy romantic, antagonistic bickering, outright arguing, teasing, UST, heart-to-heart talks, one or both of them being vulnerable and one or both of them being stubbornly locked into their world-view, unable to understand where the other is coming from. He’s lied to her and told her painful truths. She’s accepted him while asking him to be different. And whatever else happens, they love each other so much. So much.
I love the complexity, the difficulty, the honesty of their love versus the tangle of their lives, and above all I love seeing these two actors work a scene together, because not only are they individually brilliant at their jobs, but they have a chemistry together that brings my tellybox alive.
